If you made it to Hobie’s 2013 Championships held at East Gippsland Fishery in Victoria, Australia then you should remember the difficulties the anglers faced in 40 mile per hour winds that day. Richard Somerton, of Australia, who eventually came out on top was crown the 2013 IFA Kayak Fishing Champion.
And if you didn’t know or forced yourself to forget, let me remind you – in 2013 the Australians finished in 8 out of the top 10 spots in last years event. Those who would like to forget this have simply chalked it up to the treacherous conditions cause by the heavy winds and the Aussies fishing on their home turf, being able to fish areas they were already familiar with.
