Any Complaints – Intex Explorer K2 Inflatable Kayak

by frank on June 5, 2014

You’re considering buying the Intex Explorer K2 Kayak?  but need to know if there are any major complaints about this inflatable model? Or is this a good one to buy?

Of course there are complaints, right. No matter how great a product is there will still be at least one guy carrying on about something wrong.

Before we go mentioning anything negative said by other customers about this model… We just want to remind you or make you aware if you already aren’t…

This Intex Explorer K2 Inflatable Kayak is priced at under $200. Realize what you are and what you aren’t buying. We are not saying it doesn’t have any value for the money but this is definitely NOT one of the top of the line kayaks. Just be aware of this.

Do The Complaints Hold Water

As you can see from the image below the vast majority of customers give this model a very good rating. But what about the two 1-star (bad) ratings? Read below to hear what these complainers had to say.

Intex Explorer K2 Kayak Good

Ratings of Intex Explorer K2 Yellow Inflatable Kayak

#1 Complainer located on Silver Lake in Michigan

This person used the kayak a for a couple hours one day and had great fun with it. However, the next day when the person went outside they found the kayak had leaked air. They returned the kayak and got their money back.

If there was a leak this is unfortunate. Hard to say what the true story is, we are sure the person is being truthful.

Note: With inflatables, if inflated during a hot day (air expands) if over night and early morning temperatures are significantly lower (air constricts) this may give the appearance of a leak but it’s just mother nature.

With that said, no matter what model, what company, leaks do happen from time to time with inflatables. At least this person was refunded their money.

#2 Complainer and Skeg Problems

This reviewer says the Intex Explorer K2 Kayak is a “peace” of crap!!! I think they meant “piece”. The problem they had was with the skeg.

First of all this Intex Inflatable Kayak does come with a detachable skeg. If you are seriously looking for a kayak with a skeg I would never recommend buying one that is detachable. NEVER!

We do have a slight problem with this reviewer for two reasons. First, they can’t spell. Secondly, in their bad review they add in they bought another for a friend and the same thing happen.

If you refer back to the image above showing how customers have rated the Intex K2 Explorer you see the great majority have given it either a 5 or 4-star rating.
