A Review of the AdvancedFrame Sport Kayak by Advanced Elements
Recently, we received a comment on our site from a father who was considering buying this AdvancedFrame inflatable kayak (Priced Around $400) for his son. He was curious to learn our overall opinion, as well as a few specific answers to questions about its durability and if this was a good kayak choice for beginners.
We decided to write this review to address his questions and also to help those who might have the same questions in the future.
Durable or will it Puncture and Sink
Probably the most common questions from consumers who are considering buying an inflatable kayak is centered on concerns about the durability.
Today’s technology has helped to drastically improve the durability of inflatables, to the point where the many inflatables are beginning to rival the durability of hard shell kayaks.
SEE THE BEST PRICE
The AdvancedFrame Kayak is not an exception. This one is mad out of super thick rip resistant material and has an aluminum and ribs which not only increase the level of durability but also help with paddling performance on the water.
So yes, in our opinion this kayak is durable its not going to rip or tear.
Is it easy to set-up?
A Good Choice For Beginners
What are the important characteristics?
This is a one-person, sit-inside inflatable kayak just over 10 feet in length and is able to carry up to 250 pounds. It’s lightweight, weighing only 32 pounds.
Very stable and also easy to paddle, provides a lot of play, agility and acceleration. One draw back is the AdvancedFrame Kayak is wide in the center. This characteristic lends to the extra stability which is perfect for beginners but at the same time hinders top speed.
Based on our experience we have provided a short list of qualities a good beginners kayak should possess:
- Light Weight
- Large cockpit, making it easy to get in and out
- Easy to Paddle
The AdvancedFrame Sport Kayak does an excellent job providing value in all of the characteristics listed above. It’s also a kayak very easy to inflate in just minutes.
So the answer to the dad wanting to know if this kayak is good to buy for his beginner son, yes this is a good kayak to start-out with.
Our Overall Opinion and Rating
For a kayak costing under $400 we do believe the AdvancedFrame Sport Kayak provides serious value in many different aspects.
Below is an image of how current owners rate this model. 4 five-star ratings out of 7 isn’t too bad. And none gave it a rating under 3-stars.
